I started writing software when it still lived very close to the hardware. Assembler, embedded C, devices that were supposed to do exactly what the code said and not a millimetre more. Since then the languages have been swapped out completely a few times. The questions behind them, surprisingly little: who ends up using this? And where does the energy get lost on the way there?

Today I wear several hats at once. I'm managing director at Lionizers, CTO at SEON, and I founded FUMP. Not everyone I work with knows that. I never hid it, but I never made much of it either. This site is, in part, my attempt to catch up on that.

From the outside, a setup like this can look scattered. I experience it the other way round. With clients I see where software gets stuck in real life. In my own product I notice how hard it is to do better myself. Each one keeps me honest about the other.

This is where I write about the thoughts that come up in between. How I work, how I see everything that's happening with AI, what I've learned about product development and running companies. And, honestly, about what doesn't work yet.
