This site sets no cookies, loads no fonts or scripts from third parties and embeds no social media plugins. The links to LinkedIn, GitHub, X and Xing are plain links. Only when you click them do those providers' privacy rules apply.

Hosting and server logs
The site runs on a server operated by Hetzner Online GmbH in Nuremberg, Germany. With every request the web server stores your IP address, date and time, the requested address, the referring page and your browser's user agent. I need this data to run the site securely and detect attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The logs are deleted automatically after 14 days. A data processing agreement with Hetzner is in place.
Analytics with Umami
To see which pieces get read, I use Umami. It runs on my own server at Hetzner in Germany, not with a third party. It sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses. A value is derived from IP address and user agent that changes daily. That's enough to count visits, but not to recognise anyone across days. If your browser sends "Do Not Track", Umami doesn't measure at all. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
If you write to me, I process your message and address in order to reply. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My mailbox is hosted with Google Workspace.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. An email to the address above is enough. You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
The German version is legally binding.
